What indicates improvement or that your goals are met?
Five questions to assess quality - score each item: Yes=2, Somewhat=1, No=0
1. Are the research question/aims and design clearly stated?
2. Is the research design appropriate for the aims and objectives of the research?
3. Are the methods clearly described?
4. Is the data adequate to support the authors' interpretations/ conclusions?
5. Are the results generalisable?
High quality research=7-10, Medium quality=4-6, Poor quality=3 or less
Rating of research evidence:
Grade A: More than one study of high quality score or at least one with direct applicability
Grade B: One high quality study OR more than one medium quality study AND at least one of these with direct applicability OR more than one high quality study with indirect applicability
Grade C: Lower quality studies or indirect studies only
