Literature and religion usually rely on secondary publications and evidence.
Historians utilize secondary evidence and primary source materials.
Secondary literature is books or articles which report completed research.
Primary sources are first hand accounts: interviews, letters, and documents.
Primary evidence is: systematic reviews, randomized control trials, clinical studies, and standards/guidelines (highest level of evidence)
